 Doesn't leak, but does not keep things cold for long. September 3, 2010

I read all of the reviews about this item before I purchased it, I expected miracles. I tested it in all positions, no leak...ever! That is wonderful. But.... and it is a big but.....I filled the bottle with ice and water and left it for 18 hours in my well air-conditioned house. After 12 hours, the ice had melted and the water was slightly cool.
So - a great water bottle if you are worried about leakage, not so great if you want to keep your drinks cold. I have not tested it with hot liquids.

I was very disappointed to discover the product was made in China. All the environmentally friendly points made about shipping, yet the product come from across the ocean. I purchased this product for the safety of getting away from BPA and also expected the product to be made in North America in order to ensure it is a safe product to use with food.
The product is "Responsibly made in China" but I am suspect of the root materials residual chemicals with product from China at this time.

I have to agree with all the positive reviews. I bought the 20 ounce bottle, filled it with ice and water and when I got to work I let it sit on my desk for three days. I opened it up periodically during that time period and was amazed there was still ice in it at the end of the third day. Unbelievable. Worth every penny and I plan to buy more.

I was hesitant about spending $22 on a water bottle but I read the reviews and bit the bullet and bought one and I absolutely love it!
The day I got it just happened to be 95ºF outside so I put it to the test along with two other bottles that I'd been using. I had a non-insulated plastic bottle, a non-insulated aluminum bottle, and now this insulated Klean Kanteen bottle. I put the same about of ice and water in each bottle and set them outside in the direct sunlight.
Long story short, after an hour, the water in the two non-insulated bottles was too warm to drink and the Klean Kanteen insulated bottle still had ice. I decided to leave it outside the rest of the day and overnight and the next morning about 18 hours later it no longer had ice but the water was still ice cold.
Another great thing about this bottle is that it does not sweat. I'm so impressed that I just ordered two more of these. I only wish they came in different colors or at least it would be nice if the caps came in different colors.

This is, bar none, the best drinking bottle/insulated mug/canteen ever. It is very light weight, completely non-staining, easy to clean, simply and strongly made, eco-friendly, non-toxic, and it works beautifully. I bought the wide mouth cafe cap for it, and use it daily for both hot and cold drinks. It keeps my tea piping hot, even though I never remember to close the sippy cap. It keeps my cold water cold, with the SIPPY CAP OPEN overnight! When I come to work the next day it is still cold with solid ice cubes!
There are no odd parts to break, no weird seams to gather grit or grime, and it's just the most well crafted, best performing, stylish thing. It's the perfect size as it holds 20 oz, and it's not big or bulky or ungainly. I think I'm going to buy everyone one for Christmas this year. I got it for Christmas last year and it is probably my favorite present.
